Program 01 · Innovation Retreat
Where ideas are shaped under pressure. A 36–48 hour mentor-led hackathon retreat built for serious builders.
Traditional hackathons optimise for output. Build fast, pitch louder, win applause. The teams that "win" often have the best slide deck — not the strongest idea.
The Forge was built to close that gap. Every hour is structured. Every team has a mentor from day one. Evaluation goes deep into how you think, not just what you shipped.
This is not a college event. This is not a networking meetup with a deadline. The Forge is a premium creative retreat for people who are serious about building something that matters.
The Old Way
24 hours to build anything. No mentorship. No structure. Just chaos and a countdown.
Ideas go from napkin to stage — never refined, never stress-tested.
Teams are left alone. Expert input arrives too late, if at all.
The Forge Way
Every team is assigned a dedicated mentor before the first build cycle begins.
Build cycles have defined gates. Progress is tracked. Course-correction happens in real time.
Judges assess reasoning quality, pivot decisions, and clarity — not just the final deck.
The Forge is a sustained sprint — not a marathon of chaos, but a structured sequence that moves teams from raw idea to refined solution. Every phase has a purpose. Every hour is earned.
The problem space is unveiled. Teams receive the challenge brief and begin orienting themselves. No assumptions. No head starts. Everyone starts from the same line.
Teams define roles, establish a shared vision, and agree on their approach. This phase is facilitated — not free-flowing. How a team aligns early determines everything that follows.
The first deep work session. Ideas are generated, stress-tested, and narrowed — with the mentor actively in the room. Weak assumptions get killed early, before they cost time.
The longest phase. Teams enter focused build sprints with defined check-ins every 4–6 hours. Progress is visible. Pivots are supported. Stagnation is flagged — not ignored.
Build cycles close. Teams shift from creation to sharpening. Mentors lead strategic review sessions — tightening the narrative, testing the logic, identifying gaps in the solution.
Teams present to a panel of judges — industry experts, founders, and investors. Evaluation covers thinking quality, solution clarity, team dynamics, and real-world viability.
Most events bring in experts to evaluate at the finish line. At The Forge, mentors are embedded from the first hour — shaping direction, not rating output.
Each mentor works with a small cluster of teams, giving them bandwidth to go genuinely deep. Not surface advice. Not a 10-minute check-in. Real, continuous strategic engagement across the full retreat.
Mentors are practitioners — founders, investors, product leaders, domain experts — who have built things themselves. They bring judgement, not just knowledge.
A full immersive retreat — not a day event. Sustained thinking demands a sustained environment.
Hosted at a resort in Mysore or on the outskirts of Bangalore. The environment signals the intent.
Distributed across winning teams, with additional recognition for best mentor, best pivot, and best potential.
Stay and food are fully included. Participants arrive to focus — not to manage logistics.
This is a selective retreat. Entry is intentional. Standards are non-negotiable.
Judged on thinking quality, clarity, team dynamics, and real-world viability — not slide design.
Applications are selective. Reach out and we'll send you details on the next cohort.
We work with founders, investors, and practitioners who want to shape the next generation of builders.
